Aviation Safery Reporting System link online

The links section of the website now has a link to a page about NASA's Aviation Safety Reporting System (ASRS). From there, you can download the form to use for reporting a safety concern. As an incentive for making these reports, the FAA will waive fines and penalties for unintentional violations that are reported. Of course, you can't get out of penalties for accidents or criminal activities reported on these forms, but if you unintentionally violate a regulation and report it within 10 days, you can be spared from harsh penalties from the FAA. Take some time to familiarize yourself with the information on this site as you never know when it may come in handy.

Many thanks go out again to member Michel Schmied. He has improved his already great weight & balance worksheets to add fuel and runway calculations. Flight planning has never been easier! The worksheets can be downloaded from the description page of each plane.

Construction continues at MYF

I'm sure you all have noticed the ongoing construction at Montgomery. If you would like information on what is happening and what shutdowns are planned, take a look at the city's website about the local airports. They have information posted there not only about runway and taxiway shutdowns, but also about the proposed security upgrade including new fences and security checkpoints.

Weight & Balance worksheets available online

Many thanks go out to member Michel Schmied who has created weight & balance worksheets for each of our aircraft. These spreadsheets are available in the files section of each of the airplane descriptions. While the information is believed to be correct right now, remember to verify your results with the latest weight & balance information available in the plane as equipment may be added or removed from a plane before we have a chance to update the worksheets online.
